Five or six years ago my friend and I toyed around with the idea of starting a t-shirt business because we always had a lot of ideas for shirts and we thought we were hilarious. As life tends to do, it got a little hectic and we never started it. I never could get the t-shirt business out of my mind..I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit. In February 2016 I bit the bullet and started researching screen printing, bought the equipment, took a class, watched COUNTLESS youtube videos, and here I am. Over the past year, I have learned the craft of hand made screen-printed t-shirts. Fashion and art have always been my passion and now AR-T's has given me something to put the two together. For those who are curious, AR-T's is a play on the words Arts and Arkansas Tees (t-shirts). AR-T's is based out of Little Rock, Arkansas which is why many (not all) designs include Arkansas tributes.
My goal is not to sell millions (although that would be awesome..haha) but to sell to those who relate and connect with the images and messages they get from them..of which makes them feel represented and connected by the designs. The concept is for my designs to never be over-designed, but to be simple and classic with sharp and clear messages. Black and white. Hence the use of mostly black and white designs. Being a part of the 'locally made' movement is a great feeling and I hope to be a part of it for years to come. There is an old saying that when one chooses his or her clothes for the day, they are choosing who they would like to be that day and for my work to be apart of that is awesome. Cheers!
